In Unit 2 of Everyday Math we are talking a lot about factors, factor rainbows, multiples, square numbers, prime numbers and composite numbers! Here are a few images to help you remember the differences.
Two factors are multiplied together to get a product.
To find all of the factors of a number, use a factor rainbow! Remember to try each number in order from least to greatest.
All of the red numbers are square numbers. That means that both factors are the same. For example, 3 x 3 = 9. 9 is the square number.
